Interested in investigating the space between nature and culture, Schafer draws upon her professional experience in scientific illustration to create biologically plausible centaurs and ape-like warrioresses.

I’m never really all that comfortable. I find myself saying that a lot, but don’t really know what I mean by it.

The idea of comfort is quite relative in this day and age. There exist a number of definitions, which can be sufficient to explain this very abstract, yet intensely physical predisposition we humans crave and desire from the world around us.

There are a few things in life that are believed solely out of hope that they could maybe one day be real. Believing in things bigger than yourself is like wishing on a star or throwing salt over your shoulder. Most likely nothing will come of it … but wouldn’t it be nice?
